It is very easy for believers to fall into overvaluing or undervaluing work. Scripture reveals to us that all parts of our life can bring glory to God, including our career. You must start with orienting your mind around the biblical perspective that your whole life can be a spiritual service of worship. Once you have been grounded in this principle choosing a career and working hard will fall into place. Like Jesus communicated to his followers, you must seek first his kingdom and all things will be added to you. \r\n

Why the Waste?

The story of Mary pouring out her expensive perfume on Jesus to anoint him before his burial is still being told for almost two thousand years, just as Jesus predicted. The Lesson we can learn from this is nothing that we pour out on Jesus is a waste. Most people won't understand, but Jesus sees it differently. "Have our eyes been opened to see the preciousness of the One whom we are serving?...that nothing less than the dearest, the costliest, the most precious, is fit for Him?"

Drawing Near to God

Psalms 84:1-12

Some people might try to tell you that drawing near to God is an escape from real life, but the truth is drawing near to God is what enables us to face real life. There's a desire in our heart to worship something and when we are absent from God's presence we try to fill that desire with ourselves. When we come before God, we must start by accepting His appointed sacrifice which is Jesus on the cross, who made it possible for us to have a relationship with God. We must praise God for who He is, not simply thanking Him for what He has done recently.

Amazed by God

He is amazed to discover that he is fully known and yet accepted completely, that God is always present wherever he goes and that God reveals his beautiful creativity in nature and uniquely in human beings. The Work of Prayer

Great works of God are accomplished by the disciplined intercession of God's people. Prayer is an opportunity to participate in the supernatural and to bring praise to God. Daniel repeatedly pleaded with God in a way that shows three principles on the subject of prayer: 1) pleas should be specific; 2) pleas should be confident; and 3) pleas are rooted in grace.

Restored from the Insanity of Unbelief

King Nebuchadnezzar suffered from insanity caused by inner problems with a profound spiritual dimension. Greatest of all was his pride, in which he was self-deceived about his greatness and blind to his cruelty. God pursues him through a revelation of knowledge and a demonstration of His power. When Nebuchadnezzar humbly turns to praise God, he experiences God's blessing and receives personal knowledge of who God is.
