Trusting Your Child to God

Chip Geiser
Kim Geiser
Psalms 91:1-2

Our fears interfere with us truly trusting God with our children. The problem is not having fear but when we allow fear to dictate the way we parent. Instead, place your fears in their proper place (in the hands of God), pray until you experience peace and take God at His word, (His promises). And repeat these steps over and over again!

Waiting on God

Ben Foust
Acts 1:8-26

Following the ascension of Christ, the Apostles wait expectantly in Jerusalem for the coming of the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus promised would come. Through their example, we can learn practical lessons for those times when we also must wait on God. By waiting well, we can experience God's best for us as we learn to patiently trust Him and take part in his plan of salvation.

In the Lion's Den

James Rochford
Daniel 6:1-28

Daniel is faced with yet another opportunity for compromise. Yet despite the imminent danger, Daniel gives thanks to and petitions God for help. Daniel's challenge to us is: Will you compromise in the face of persecution, or will you stand for Christ in faith?

The Corporate Prayer Ministry of the Church

Gary DeLashmutt
Luke 11:9-13

Corporate prayer is one of the most important things believers can do to help contribute to the health of the church. Not only did Jesus emphasize praying together but it is the force behind the growth of the church. The church should pray for one another, but they should also pray for people who have not yet come into a relationship with Christ. In Paul's letter to Timothy, he lays out how the church can practically pray together.

Peter and Herod

Ben Foust
Acts 12:1-24

The early church once again faces opposition, this time from King Herod, who arrests Peter. In response to prayer, God miraculously releases Peter from prison and puts an end to Herod's reign. We are challenged to pray similarly, in order to take part in the work God continues in the world today.

Evangelism: Heart Issues & Practices

Phil Franck
Acts 12:1-24

God wants to use His people to reach the lost by spreading His Good News as He opens doors of opportunity. We need to examine our motivation and attitudes that may block our participation in evangelism. There are many things that can cause fear in sharing the Good News. To overcome those obstacles we need to start with our identity and mission from God. There are endless tools God has given us to be effective; His Holy Spirit, prayer, His Gospel, and creativity, to name a few.\r\n

Fighting for Delight in God's Word

John Cleary
Luke 10:38-42

As we develop and cultivate our relationship with God we can find delight in His Word. We are in a spiritual battle - and the enemy wants us to not advance in this area. We should fight for this and advance intentionally. We can do this as we expand our understanding of the word - seeing it as our theology, wisdom, a gift, a weapon, a stewardship, and a revelation of relationship.

Enlarging your Heart through God's Word

Bev DeLashmutt
Psalms 119:32

Through the Psalmist we learn that while his condition is full of suffering, pain, and persecution he draws near to God through God's word. God wants to enlarge our hearts with His word. The outcome is determined by what we affirm, ask for, hope in, and obey. Pain, suffering, sin, and failure can shrink our hearts. A growing heart acknowledges circumstances but affirms God's truth. Live in the reality of pain and suffering but land on the reality of what God's word says about it.\r\n

Leading Corporate Prayer

Joey Francisco
Philippians 4:4-8

Leading a corporate prayer meeting effectively takes strategy and planning. It requires thought in building both the agenda and atmosphere of the meeting. Good prayer meetings include focusing on our mission, a vision, and gratitude.
